The Soekris net4526 is a low power, low cost embedded computer that is the core of our Mark I wireless networking kit. It has one wired Ethernet port and two mini-PCI Type III slots, and can accommodate two mini-PCI radio cards.
Far more advanced than a typical access point, the net4526 is a general purpose computer that can be configured as a router, repeater, access point, CPE, and more.
The Soekris net4526 features the following:
- 133 Mhz AMD ElanSC520 processor 64MB SDRAM
- 64MB Flash storage
- One 10/100 RJ45 Ethernet port
- Two mini-PCI type III sockets
- One DB9 serial port
- Power, Activity, and Error LEDs
- 5 bit general purpose I/O lines
- Hardware watchdog and temperature sensor
- Hard/Soft reset switch
- Input power: 11-56V DC, max 10 Watt
- Supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) according to the 802.3af standard
- Operating temperature: 0C to 60C
The net4526 will boot Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, and most realtime operating systems.
